App in the clouds

by Vittoria Marino on 06/26/2013

Hello everyone. My name is Vittoria, and I’ve been one of the “guys” at Instant Developer since January. The luckiest of you have already had a chance to meet me over the phone -I’ll introduce myself to the rest of you the first time we talk ;).

Before coming here I couldn’t have imagined the huge variety of subjects tackled in Pro Gamma meetings. At one of the first ones I attended, we talked about cloud-based services. How many of you use Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive? Or maybe SkyDrive or Dropbox? And I’ll bet that almost all of you have a Google or Facebook account. By now it’s clear that support for cloud services is not just a fleeting trend; it has become a very important element of applications, especially for mobile apps.

Those of you who have known Andrea longer than I have are well aware what he’s like: he couldn’t possibly miss the chance to make apps developed with Instant Developer even better. And that’s why he proposed that I develop a component to integrate with the most common cloud services.

I accepted his challenge enthusiastically, and now I’m pleased to announce something else you’ll find in Instant Developer 12.1: IDCloud, a component designed to let you integrate cloud services into your applications, and more. With it, you can:

  • integrate PayPal and make payments directly from Visual Code;
  • log in using Facebook and access published content;
  • log in using Google;
  • integrate Google Calendar to manage your schedule;
  • integrate Gmail to read and send e-mail;
  • integrate Dropbox, Google Drive and SkyDrive.

If you’d like to have a look at IDCloud, just download the example project and compile it today! For sales information, you can contact

Are you ready for your apps to fly among the clouds?
