A new Roadmap

by Luca Baldini on 04/13/2013

It hasn’t been long since version 12.0 of Instant Developer was released, but since a few of you have already contacted me to find out what will be in the next one, I’ve decided to address it in this post.

12.1 is one of those versions that I like to call a finishing version, meaning a release in which the focus is largely on improving recently introduced features. For example, we want to complete the native shell for Windows 8, providing all the functionalities already featured in the versions for iOS and Android.

But by now you know us and how we’re made: we’re never satisfied and we always want to do more. This time, to decide what to do, I’m going to need your help.

About three months ago we talked to you for the first time about the Instant Developer Roadmap: a form integrated into Instant Developer with which you can see real time what work Pro Gamma’s technical department is doing.

Now, a new feature is being added to the Roadmap: the list of improvements and new items that have grown out of our dialogue with you, through support and the forum, but which haven’t yet been scheduled for implementation. This list grows week by week, and you can vote on the ones you’re most interested in.

Now it’s your turn: open Roadmap from the Instant Developer main menu HelpInstant Developer Roadmap and vote on what you’d like to see in the next version. At the end of April the “winning” items will be planned directly for 12.1!

I am really pleased to see Instant Developer include the Roadmap feature as a part of the IDE. So often developers have no idea of what is being worked on, to see what bugs are in the pipleline for a fix or what new features are on the horizon. So often with other products you have little clue about whats happening until the patch, update or new version is released.

It really helps us understand the vision for Instant Developer. Its a nice feature thanks for making it available to In.de users.
