Business applications with Cloud? Now you can

by Andrea Maioli on 01/19/2017

Those of you who’ve tried the two editions of Instant Developer know that Foundation is best suited for business type applications, while Cloud delivers the most for customer-facing apps, in which the user experience takes top priority. Today I’d like to introduce a shift of perspective in this regard, because sometimes business applications require the same level of focus on the user experience as the best mobile apps. That’s why we’ve asked Zenoid, our UX designer, to try to imagine a CRM application from a new point of view: that of the user. The application had to be simple, because it is of course an example, and it had to follow the basic graphic rules of Bootstrap, because we wanted to take this opportunity to show you how this graphic framework integrates with the Cloud edition as well. Thus, MeetYou was born. It’s a cloud CRM that you can test directly online at this address. Here’s what I found most interesting about MeetYou:

  1. It’s fast: each interaction with the system is almost immediate, as if it were client-server.
  2. It’s responsive: it works well on a smartphone in portrait mode, and adapts to all resolutions and form factors.
  3. It contains complex widgets: even the most complex views, like the appointment book, were created easily with the IDE, without using external components.

If you’d like to see how we did it, you can open this example project. But the most innovative aspect may be the actual design of the CRM, which is very different from what characterizes classic business applications. A design of this type has very profound impacts, to the point that even the structure of the database depends on it. This shows that even in the realm of the classic and well-known, plenty of innovation is still possible, and maybe your business systems deserve it. If you agree, I think that a designer like Zenoid and a development platform like Instant Developer Cloud may be right for you. What do you think?

Hi Ted
Thank you for constantly trying our apps an letting us know about any problems.
It seems that just after the post was published there was a surge in logins, which went well above the server capacity we were expecting to be needed. Now it should be OK. Let us know if you still experience any issue.
